About the Luther Library

As once a part of the Kickpoo Reservation, the city of Luther has quite a unique history. Luther first started as Garnettville O.T. which was established in 1892. The name changed again when railroad developer and prominent Oklahoma City industrialist, C.G. Jones named the town Luther in honor of his son Luther Jones. The rich history of Luther is important to the community and to the Luther Library. Because of this unique history, the Luther library has maintained a collection of articles about the town of Luther, the early settlers, area cemeteries, and several photographs chronicling the town’s history.

You can locate the Luther Library on NE 3rd Street along the railroad tracks in Luther, Oklahoma.
