Children's Author Gwendolyn Hooks At Del City Library

Are you a writer of books for children? Do you want to be one?

If the answer to either of these questions if “Yes,” you'll want to be at the Del City Library on Tuesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. for an evening with author Gwendolyn Hooks. Hooks will discuss how to write children's books. She will also answer questions about her own books and be ready to talk about the writer's life.

Hooks is the author of “The Mystery of the Missing Dog,” “Nice Wheels,” and “Three's a Crowd.”

On her website, Hooks offers some introductory advice to would-be writers. “Read everything. The neighborhood librarian should be your best friend. Ask her what kids are reading and you read it too. And keep writing.”

“We're looking forward to having a terrific time with Gwendolyn,” said Del City librarian Sam Weehunt. “And in addition to just having fun, I know everyone who attends her talk will be exposed to some great advice.”

Hooks will also be available to sign her books for fans.
