Downtown Library to Open at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Downtown LibraryThe Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library of the Metropolitan Library System will open at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 23, 2008.  Other libraries in the system will maintain their regular hours of operation.  The Downtown Library will resume normal hours on Thursday, January 24, 2008, by opening at 9:00am.

The library will be closed to allow staff to attend the funeral of 32-year library employee Pamela Kosted, who passed away on Saturday, January 19, after a brief illness.

Pamela joined the Metropolitan Library System staff in 1975 and worked at The Village and Downtown libraries before moving to the Interlibrary Loan Office where she was responsible for borrowing books from other libraries and lending material to them at the special request of readers and researchers.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am, Wednesday, January 23, at St. Patrick's Church, NW 19th and Portland. 
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to Sr. Barbara Joseph's Pantry, 1216 Classen Drive, Oklahoma City 73103.

The Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County includes 12 libraries and five extension libraries.  Libraries include Belle Isle, Capitol Hill, Ralph Ellison, Ronald J.
