Community Health Fair Scheduled For Midwest City Library

It’s time for the 2009 Midwest City Library Community Health Fair.

This year’s edition of the annual event will be held at the Midwest City Library, 8143 E. Reno on Saturday, August 15, 2009, from 10 am to 4pm. The fair will be held on the library’s parking lot.

“It’s for people of all ages,” said librarian Suzette Felton.  “Our goal is to educate the community regarding health issues and the various ways of addressing them.

“So far, the following vendors are booked to help us: Chick Fil-A, the Lions Mobile Health Screening Unit, the MWC Fire and Police Departments, the Mid Del Farmers Market Association, and Walgreens.”

Participants at the Health Fair can receive bone density exams, blood-sugar tests, cholesterol examinations, free immunization for kids, free food, and free prizes for all ages.

“We’ll even have a free jumper for the kids,” Felton added.

When you arrive at the fair, please register at the Information Desk.  Please call 405-732-4828 with questions.

The Midwest City Library Community Health Fair is co-sponsored by Walgreens, Midwest City YMCA, Midwest City Fire Department, and Midwest City Police Department.
