Library Program for Children and Parents Scheduled for Spring Sessions


“Family Place: 1-2-3 Play With Me” is your Metropolitan Library System’s name for its ongoing series of workshops and programs designed to help parents learn more about their children and to improve their parenting skills.

The Family Place series began in the Fall of 2002 in just one location and quickly became one of Metro Library’s most successful new programs.  In fact, it developed into such a hit with parents and caregivers, it soon expanded into several other Metro libraries.

The basic concept is that families--and especially those with young children--need a place to go that is safe where everyone can have some fun and learn new skills, too.  Parents--and this includes grandparents and other caregivers as well--can get down on the floor with their children and have a ball.

But offering more than just fun, Family Place also provides a host of professionals in several areas of child development, people who can chat with adults and offer advice on common problems.
