Reading can take children all kinds of places, even the moon! The Capitol Hill Library, 334 SW 26th St., and the OKC Astronomy Club celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first moon landing. Future astronauts can launch in for this program Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m.
The event will encourage literacy and offer lessons about astronomy and history. It is open to families, children and teens.
Apollo 11 landed on the moon July 20, 1969. Young readers can learn about this “small step for man, giant leap for mankind,” while reading the selection of books available on the topic, and participating in the activities and presentation given by the OKC Astronomy Club.
